We have been hearing about Google Panda 4.2 for well over a month now and it has finally been released into the wild. The latest Google algorithm update did not cause the shockwaves of many previous updates. In fact, most people didn’t even know it went live. I sure didn’t. In late July 2015 there were a few Tweets from industry experts discussing the potential of the Google Panda algorithm update going live. Google confirmed the algorithm update went live on July 18th, 2015.
Interestingly, I saw very little movement in search results in almost all legal verticals. The personal injury vertical is the most interesting to me because these lawyers and attorneys often rely on Google search to get new clients. Unlike other areas of law in which there are a large number of referrals, personal injury lawyers want to get leads from their website so they don’t have to pay those lofty referral fees.
I have been monitoring car accident lawyer search results for the cities of Los Angeles, Phoenix and Chicago. Over the next few days I am going to grind deeper into these search results but I can tell you from first glance there has not been much of a change. It is important to remember that the Google Panda algorithm goes after websites with low quality content. This is not the algorithm that goes after websites that have over optimized or have too many links. That is the Google Penguin algorithm.
