Why Am I Not Getting Any Clicks with Google AdWords?

If you are just getting started with Google AdWords you may find it difficult to understand the overall interface. Getting started with Campaigns, opportunities, keyword research and schedule ads can be quite the daunting task. Once you get it all set up you then have to patiently wait to see if anyone will click on your ad. If you are like me, you want results to be in real time. Google has spoiled us with Real Time Analytics but they do not offer real time AdWords.

Before assuming you are not getting any ad clicks wait at least 24 hours after you have enabled your ad campaign. This is not very large within the AdWords dashboard but it is there:

You will have to exude some patience when it comes to tracking your ad clicks through the Google AdWords dashboard. Something you may want to consider is to create a separate landing page for your advertisement. If you do this you will be able to go into Google Analytics and watch the real time results. If you are getting swarms of traffic to a landing page that was created solely for Google AdWords you can make an educated guess that your ads are live and are getting clicked.

As an entrepreneur and small business owner it is sometimes difficult to wait for results. On a consistent basis I find that my most successful articles and pages on this website immediately take off. It does not take me 24 hours to figure out if something is going to work or not. There is an entire book on this principle. I strongly suggest you read Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink┬áto better understand why quick results and decisions matter so much.

That said, if you are new to Google AdWords you are going to have to wait 24 hours to see how many ad clicks you have received. In the meantime, go write some blog posts or articles for your website so you can rank in organic search for many other keyword phrases.

If it has been several days or weeks and you still are not getting clicks on Google AdWords email me at jwojdylo@gmail.com. We can go over your AdWord campaign and see what is wrong.
