One of the unique features of Snapchat is the privacy of the app. Unlike Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, users cannot see anything about your friends. Instagram is semi-private in that you cannot click on a user’s followers and see a list. You can click on the users that have liked a photo though. On Snapchat, there is no way to see any relationship between two users. At one point, there was a top 3 best friends list but Snapchat removed that in January of 2015.
Now that best friends are emojis there is no way to see other people’s friends. This makes it very difficult to grow a following on Snapchat because you cannot add or find other people unless you have their phone number or their QR code. A lot of users wanting to grow their following are sharing their QR Code on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Some have even changed their profile picture to be their Snapchat QR Code.
There are a number of ways to grow your following and number of views but that is another article for another time. If you want to see the friends of other people you will have to access their account by signing in or looking at their phone. If you want to date a boy or a girl you will likely never get to see who their friends are on Snapchat. This is unfortunate but what makes the app extremely popular. The privacy of the app has made it the most popular app for middle school, high school and college students.
If you want to know is someone is your friend or is following you the quickest way to find out is to see if you can see their Snapchat score. If you can see their score they are following you.
There is going to be a major update to the Snapchat app on December 4th, 2017. There very well may be an option for users to share their friends list with others. Snapchat is struggling financially and needs a way to grow the company. A quick way to get people more engaged on Snapchat is to allow them to follow more people. Friends of friends are always a great way to enjoy social platforms. If this feature is made available with the late 2017 or early 2018 update, we will be sure to update this page and pass along the information
