I Made This Just For You Instagram DM Hack – Click Link?

If you have been on Instagram on Saturday, August 17th, 2019 you may have received a DM from a friend or someone you follow that says “I Made This Just for You” with a bit.ly link to click. Do not click this link. This is a phishing account that is trying to get your password. Like a number of different DM hacks over the last few weeks, the phishing account sends a link that requires you to sign back in to Instagram. They then get your email address.

It looks something like this:

I just got it but what was weird was the fact that I got it from my friends account and I thought it was something she actually sent me so I opened and put in my Instagram and everything later I realized something wasn’t right so I searched up and made sure to change my password my email wasn’t a problem because I signed in using my username

I got this message from my boyfriend, does that mean he has to change his password too since they used him to send it to me?

I clicked the link but it seemed sketchy so I didn’t log in. Am I fine to keep my password the same?

i accidentally clicked the link described above. I may have signed in with my pw.
Realizing my mistake, I have since changed my password. What is the chance they got my email.
Should I change that also?

I clicked on the link but when I saw error and all that I knew something was wrong so i changed my password and blocked the person that sent it but ye i think you should make a new Email and then they won’t do anything or put your phone number instead of the email it’s super easy .

AND ASSURE ME that my actions taken within hours of the event will protect me. Timeline: Between 5:30 and… Read more »
