If you have received the Gross List Instagram DM hack you likely aren’t even seeing a link to click or anything to look at. The hack has evolved into a simply DM from one of your friends or a person you follow on Instagram. You may even be getting the DM from a celebrity or someone that has tens of thousands of followers. This is what the latest hack looks like:
The text reads, “This user put you profile on the Gross List. Everybody keeps voting for you. Your almost at the very top. It’s crazy. You can see who added you, you might know him. He’s the only person who can take you off it. I voted you down but it’s so late, you’re going viral.”
So, we now know the phishing account is trying to set you up to Google or look for a link. It will likely be the case that sometime in the near future you are going to get a link they ask you to click. As always, do not click a link for any of these Instagram DM hacks. You should text or call the person that sent you the DM to confirm they really did. You will likely find out they have no clue what you are talking about.
The phishing account is working harder than ever this weekend. It started with the Worst Wall, then the Most Annoying List, then the Worthless Wall and now we are seeing the “Most Gross User List”. Please, do not click the link if you have received this DM on Instagram.
The text of the DM will say something like this, ““♕Jordyn♕ WOW your really ranked on this Instagram Most Gross User List. All your photos are on it. You are currently ranked 25! it’s really messed up. You can even see who added you on it.”
What time did you get this Instagram DM? Did you click the link and sign in?
