Snapchat is used by millions throughout the United States. One of the most popular features of Snapchat has ben the integration of Bitmoji into the Snapchat Map. Even though it can be a little creepy and some worry about privacy, there are still millions that share their location on the Snapchat Map. With every holiday, the Snapchat map changes with the theme for that holiday. Thanksgiving brought piles of leaves and trees changing colors. Halloween brought pumpkins, ghosts and flying bats. With these holiday themes, Snapchat does not make money. Here is how they can.
Snapchat should offer locations of the most popular sales and deals during Black Friday. This would be very easy to implement. Snapchat Map already has locations of some places to eat as well as CVS and Walgreens. Why not offer users suggestions on places to shop for Black Friday. Snapchat already knows the popular locations with the heat map they have on the Snapchat Map, so why not partner with retailers and offer deals.
Snapchat is trying diligently to push lens (face filters) and filters that overlay on Snapchat pictures and videos but there are so many more ways they can make money on retail. It will be interesting to see how Snapchat attacks Black Friday in 2018. They will surely have a few filters for users to share and maybe a lens or two from retailers but will they pull out something different and offer ways for users to buy from Amazon directly from Snap? Will they put the locations of the biggest sales and deals during the holiday shopping season?
