So, Snapchat has upset its users again. This time it is the auto play stories. For those that do not know, when you start watching a Snapchat story, once it ends it will automatically play the next story in line. This means your Snapchat name might show up as having viewed a story that you had no intentions of viewing. It is safe to say this could ruin a teenagers life. What if your boyfriend or girlfriend finds out you have been viewing stories of your exes?
Below you will find some of the reactions to those that are not pleased with the new Snapchat auto play stories feature:
The snapchat update is the worst

After seeing the new snapchat update I've come to realisation that I need to delete 75% of my snapchat friends

Dear Snapchat update, you're confusing me with the stories and no, I don't want to view EVERY SINGLE STORY

Not a fan of the new snapchat update where it jumps to the next story. Any way to turn that off?

As you can clearly see, users are not happy. Sadly, there is no way to turn this feature off…yet. You can be rest assured that Snapchat is listening and will offer some way for users to turn the feature off. As of right now, the only way to not watch all these store is to delete your friends or be ready to swipe down quickly.
Admittedly, the number of views on stories has drastically gone up. My account went from 10k views to about 15k views overnight. That said, if the users are unhappy, these views are not worth it.
What do you think about the new Snapchat auto play stories update? Do you want a way to turn it off?
Turn it off please!!
I don’t care about the number a views I’m getting. ..my need to feel loved is fulfilled in other ways I guess. But it is very confusing when you’re watching a story and it jumps without you knowing. I’ll get excited that someone’s in town when that’s not actually them anymore.
As much as I love snapchat, they don’t seem to mind that there a confusing platform. Probably the most common message sent is “I don’t remember what I sent you” because the past messages all disappear.
I wonder if the views are false. Because I quickly close the story but are those 2 seconds of viewing considered a proper view? This is inflating numbers for sure.
Why would you title your article like this when you DON’T HAVE a way to turn it off? You’re an idiot.
TURN IT OFF FFS
